Faunalytics

Faunalytics maintains the largest database of animal advocacy research, works with animal advocacy organisations on projects to improve their impact, and produces original animal advocacy research.

What does Faunalytics do?

Faunalytics' mission is to "empower animal advocates with access to research, analysis, strategies, and messages that maximize their effectiveness to reduce animal suffering."

The animal advocacy movement is generally lacking in research that can help guide its actions, and many charities do not make use of the research that is available. Faunalytics aims to address this with their research related program work --- maintaining a library of over 4,000 research articles, partnering with organisations on research projects to improve the effectiveness of those organisations' work, and producing their own research in areas that they have identified as key knowledge gaps in the movement.

Is Faunalytics effective?

We think Faunalytics is one of the top charities within animal advocacy. This is because they focus particularly on farmed and wild animals, which have an enormous scale while being extremely neglected. Additionally, their work helps strengthen the movement as a whole and provides insights that other charities can use to improve the effectiveness of their programs.

This is why Faunalytics was evaluated as one of Animal Charity Evaluators' top charities, and why we are also confident to recommend them for donors interested in improving animal welfare.
